Gillan and Glover leave. Coverdale and Hughes join.

Who Do We Think We Are came out early in the year, with Woman from Tokyo.

Tensions in the band ran high, and after the tour of Japan in summer 1973 Ian Gillan left. Roger Glover had to go too.

In came the unknown singer David Coverdale and bassist and singer Glenn Hughes from Trapeze – Mk III was born.
